Fidel Mirelez

Fidel Mirelez of Lockport, Illinois, age 87, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at his home.
Fidel was the devoted husband to the late Caroline (Esquibel) Mirelez; beloved father of Alice (Richard) Leadbetter, Joseph (Kimberly) Mirelez, Rev. Noel (Rachel) Mirelez, Elena (Francisco) Martinez, Linda (Rev. Jerry) Barron, Lisa (Marcos) Camargo, and Natalie Cockream; grandfather and great-grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He retired from U.S. Steel in Gary, Indiana. He enjoyed being a vendor at Derald’s Flea Market in Joliet, Illinois for many years.
Fidel was a loving father who will be truly missed by his family. You will forever live in our hearts and memory. It is okay now Papa, you can go in peace. Mama is there waiting for you – to take care of you for us.
The family invites relatives and friends to gather at Faith United Pentecostal Church of Joliet, 3600 Caton Farm Rd, Joliet, IL 60431 on Thursday, August 25, 2016 for a gathering period from 9 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service to begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd., Joliet from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
