Evelyn O’Brien (nee Baloy), age 83, passed away on Tuesday, August 07, 2018.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Dan (Terri) O’Brien; grandchildren, Anthony (Rebecca) O’Brien, Joseph (Rachel Sheffield) O’Brien, Danielle (Dan) Feiner; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Adaline O’Brien; siblings, Olga (the late Francis) Bowsher, Helen (the late Robert) Krumlinde, Florence (the late Jack) Ryan, Frank Baloy, Barbara Ann (Clay) Clement; brother-in-law, Arthur Cook; and sister-in-law, Colleen Baloy; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. O’Brien; son, Robert B. O’Brien; parents, John and Helen (nee Semplinski) Baloy; sisters, Sophie Cook, Catherine (Paul) Siron; brothers, Lawrence Baloy and Michael Baloy.
Evelyn was a dedicated parishioner of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Joliet where she was a former choir member and Sunday School Teacher. Evelyn was also a former member of the Ladies Aide and Altar Circle. She was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan and was thrilled to be able to watch them win the World Series. Evelyn’s greatest joys were spending time with her family, grandchildren and church family. She will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn’s name to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Joliet would be appreciated.
Funeral services for Evelyn will begin on Saturday, August 11, 2018 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Joliet for a 10:00 a.m. service. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Panachida Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
