Evelyn L. Mauro

Evelyn Mauro (nee Horvat), age 81, went home to the Lord surrounded by her family on July 31, 2008. The Angels surely wept with joy to see Evy embrace her unforgettable husband "Chich." Their love will now continue after 4 long years of separation. Evy is survived by her cherished daughter Mary Ann (Gaylord) Faull and adored grandchildren: Justin (Becca) Faull, Courtney (Rob) Basile and Chase Faull. Her loyal siblings include Dorothy (late Joe) Lakotich, Delores (late Len) Suhadolce, Rose (Lewis) Meyers, Theresa (Nick) Rousonelos, Bob (Joann) Horvat, Ray (Gladys) Horvat, and Mary Ann (Joe) Pluth. Also included are numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Louis; parents Joseph and Mary (nee Kobe) Horvat; sisters Josephine Ercegovich, Kate (late Wally) Sargent, and Lorraine (Ralph) Wedic; brother Joseph (late Eileen) Horvat. Also included are her many departed in-laws. A flood of memories washes over us: mom"s creativity, her devotion to the rosary, her many sewing abilities, her dynamic meatball recipe, her unwavering loyalty to the Cubs and enjoying many family parties. Most of all mom and "nana", we know the Lord has healed your broken heart when dad "papa" went ahead. We will never forget you and your eternal love. Words cannot express our family"s gratitude to the staff at The Inn at Willow Falls and the Vitas Hospice Staff for the care and comfort mom received during her final days. Private services were held Saturday, August 2, 2008. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
