Evelyn J. (Grohar) Grskovic

Evelyn J. Grskovic “Jackie,” age 96, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Gary Grskovic, Nancy Waesco, Gale (Rick) McTee and Gwen (John) Dow; grandchildren, Casey Grskovic, Sean (Jen) Waesco, Stacey (Isaac) Hart, Zachary McTee, Renee McTee, Teddy (John Simov) Dow, Nikki (Gary) Miller; great-grandchildren, Luke Waesco, John Waesco and Olivia Rose Miller.

Preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Edward Grskovic; grandson, Ross C. Grskovic; parents, Mary (nee Gerat) and Joseph Grohar; and siblings, Rosemary (Raymond) Tusek and Mildred (William) Papesh.

Evelyn was born in Joliet, resided in Lockport, IL, attended St. Cyril and Methodius Grade School and graduated from Lockport High School where she participated in the band. After high school she attended St. Joseph School of Nursing and was in the Cadet Corp of nurses training. She worked at the Illinois Research Hospital and continued her career at the old St. Joseph Hospital on Broadway Street in Joliet.

Jackie was co-owner of Grskovic & Sons with her husband Edward for over 30 years.

Jackie was quiet in her strength, humble in her worth and gifted with an immeasurable sense of humor. Jackie loved her game shows. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be profoundly missed.

Services for Evelyn have been held privately. She was laid to rest at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill.
