Eva M. Toke

Eva Toke, age 83, passed away peacefully from natural causes on Friday, February 4, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.
Eva was born and raised in Nagymakfa, Hungary. She left Hungary with her husband, Jeno, and brother-in-law, Otto, in 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution, with little more than the clothes they were wearing. They settled in the Crest Hill area and had been residents for 65 years.
Eva was a devoted wife, mother, and "Grammy" to her seven grandchildren,always kind hearted and soft spoken. She was an exceptional cook and baker, known for her traditional Hungarian dinners and delectable pastries. There was always a welcome seat for you at her kitchen table.
Eva is survived by her daughters Judit (Rich) Ksiazak, Susan (Rick) Wilhelmi, and Ildiko (Paul) Vineis; grandchildren Magda, Ilona, Michelle, Rick, Paul, Michael, and Christina.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Jeno, and daughter, Kathleen.
The family wishes to thank Lightways Hospice for their generous care and support during her final days at home, as well as Kelly Boyle for her ongoing care and assistance for the past several years.
Per Eva's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial to celebrate Eva's life will be held at a future date. For those so inclined, please consider a donation to Lightways Hospice in Joliet.
