Eugene F. Plese

Age 84, of Crest Hill, went to his Heavenly home Friday, September 6, 2013, to be with his daughter, Kathy.

At his side at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home was his loving wife of 60 years, Eileen (nee Cox) Plese; daughters, Karen Plese and Kimberly Hodges; grandson, Thomas Plese.

Gene is also survived by son-in-law, Jeff Hodges; grandchildren, Cody, Kristen, and Allison Hodges; great grandson, his pride and joy, Donte' Plese; sister, Phyllis (the late Bernard) Benco; brother, John (Marilynn) Plese; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents John and Julia Plese; daughter, Kathleen Plese; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, William Cox and Ann Samion.

Gene was employed at Olin Chemical for 39 years and was a United States Army veteran. He was a member at Rivals Club, American Legion Post 1080, Cantigny Post VFW #367, and Joliet Moose Lodge 300.

A Celebration of Eugene's life will begin on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 a.m. then moving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church, Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery, Crest Hill. A Visitation will be held Monday, September 9, 2013 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet.
