Eugene R. Ferguson

Eugene R. Ferguson, age 84, born into eternal life on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

Eugene is survived by his children, Thomas E. (Eden) Ferguson and Patrick Ferguson; grandchildren, Corey and Christopher Ferguson; great-grandchildren, Cheyanne, Shae and Jolene.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Loretta (nee McMaster) Ferguson (2016); parents, William and Catherine (nee Seeley) Ferguson; brothers, William, Walter, James, and Laverne Ferguson; sister, Dolly Miner; and daughter-in-law, Renee Ferguson (2014).

Eugene was a dedicated welder at Material Service Corporation in Lockport and retired after 43 years of service. He was proud United States Army Veteran being Honorably Discharged as a Corporal and was a member of the American Legion Post #13. He was a longtime parishioner and usher at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet. Eugene was an avid golfer and will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eugene’s name to the Alzheimer Association would be appreciated.

A celebration of Eugene’s life will begin on Monday, November 13, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood where full Military Honors will be rendered.  Visitation will be on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
