Esteban Ostiguin Niño

Esteban Ostiguin Niño, 87, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Esteban was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life—working around his home, tending to his garden, and enjoying a good tequila or beer. He had a deep love for his family and cherished spending time with them, especially during visits to his beloved home in Villa Juarez, San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

Esteban is preceded in death by his parents, Luis Ostiguin and Lorenza Niño; his brothers, Celedonio Ostiguin Niño and Feliciano Ostiguin Niño; and his beloved daughter, Rebeca Ostiguin Martinez.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Maria Del Socorro Ostiguin Martinez, and their children: Luis (Irelia) Ostiguin, Fernando (Graciela) Ostiguin, Hector Ostiguin, Rebeca (Arturo) Ramirez and Esteban Ostiguin Jr. He was a proud grandfather to Alyssa (Eric Grace) Ostiguin, Esmeralda Ostiguin, Abigail (Jerry Bass) Ostiguin, Luis (Vanessa Lona) Ostiguin Jr., Nayeli Ostiguin, Daniela Ramirez, Lilianna Ostiguin, Maximiliano Ostiguin, Bruno Ostiguin, Miranda Ostiguin, Alejandra Ramirez, Edgararturo Ramirez, and Fernanda Ostiguin. He also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren, Ulices Ostiguin, Olivia Bass, and Emilia Grace.

Esteban is also survived by his siblings: Casimiro Ostiguin Niño, Ramon Ostiguin Niño, and Juana Niño, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Esteban's life will be held with visitation on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, IL.

Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 10:30 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 404 N. Hickory St., Joliet, IL, with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 23060 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL.

Esteban Ostiguin Niño, de 87 años, de Joliet, Illinois, falleció el Domingo 16 de Marzo de 2025, rodeado de su amorosa familia. Esteban era un hombre que encontraba alegría en los placeres sencillos de la vida: trabajar en su hogar, cuidar su jardín y disfrutar de un buen tequila o cerveza. Tenía un profundo amor por su familia y atesoraba pasar tiempo con ellos, especialmente durante las visitas a su querido hogar en Villa Juárez, San Luis Potosí, México.

Esteban fue precedido en su muerte por sus padres, Luis Ostiguin y Lorenza Niño; sus hermanos, Celedonio Ostiguin Niño y Feliciano Ostiguin Niño; y su querida hija, Rebeca Ostiguin Martínez.

Deja atrás a su amada esposa, María Del Socorro Ostiguin Martínez, y sus hijos: Luis (Irelia) Ostiguin, Fernando (Graciela) Ostiguin, Héctor Ostiguin, Rebeca (Arturo) Ramírez y Esteban Ostiguin Jr. Fue un orgulloso abuelo de Alyssa (Eric Grace) Ostiguin, Esmeralda Ostiguin, Abigail (Jerry Bass) Ostiguin, Luis (Vanessa Lona) Ostiguin Jr., Nayeli Ostiguin, Daniela Ramírez, Lilianna Ostiguin, Maximiliano Ostiguin, Bruno Ostiguin, Miranda Ostiguin, Alejandra Ramírez, Edgararturo Ramírez y Fernanda Ostiguin. También deja atrás a sus queridos bisnietos, Ulices Ostiguin, Olivia Bass y Emilia Grace.

Esteban también le sobreviven sus hermanos: Casimiro Ostiguin Niño, Ramón Ostiguin Niño y Juana Niño, junto con numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas.

Se celebrará una ceremonia en honor a la vida de Esteban con una visita el Viernes 21 de Marzo de 2025, de 4:00 pm a 8:00 pm en Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, IL.

La misa funeraria se celebrará el Sábado 22 de Marzo de 2025, a las 10:30 am en la Iglesia Católica de San Juan Bautista, 404 N. Hickory St., Joliet, IL, con el entierro a seguir en Woodlawn Memorial Park, 23060 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL.
