Ernest Hatfield
June 16, 1933 — January 10, 2018
Ernest Hatfield, age 84, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 with his loving family by his side.
Ernest is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon (nee Larson) Hatfield; children, Alan (Tori), Lovell (Shelli) and Ernest Hatfield; step-children, Daniel (the late Toni) Spires, Douglas (Annette) Spires and Dana Pike; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Vinton and Albinia (nee Herald) Hatfield; first wife, Althea; second wife, Bessie; one brother and one sister.
Ernest was a wonderful family man and a great provider for them. His greatest joy was having all of his family home with him. Ernest was a proud United States Army veteran serving as a Corporal during the Korean War. He was a member of the New Lenox VFW Post #9545 and enjoyed spending time there. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ernest’s name to the New Lenox VFW Post #9545 would be appreciated.
A celebration of Ernest’s life was held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
