Erik, age 19, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 18, 2022.
Erik was born September 30, 2003 to Tina Binzen in Joliet, IL.
Erik is preceded in death by his great-grandparents: James (Papa) and Eleanor Clementi.
He is survived by his parents: Tina Binzen and Ken Kelledy; sisters: Abby Okon and Nicole Kelledy; grandparents: Omar and Laurie Kostelny, and Jane Kelledy; and nephew of Chris Clementi and cousin Mekenzie Wanek-Clementi.
Erik had many interests and hobbies. He was an avid gamer, both online and getting together to play at a friend's house and was always up for a challenge and some good old-fashioned competition. Erik was always there for his family and friends. If you needed help Erik was the first to offer. Erik never turned down the opportunity to hang out with his friends and his girlfriend, Kayla. Erik was a man of many talents, he enjoyed building his own computer, working on his gas powered bike, and maintaining his car. He also enjoyed music, showcased in his fine-tuned car stereo system that he built to sound exactly the way he wanted. His passions manifested in his love for technology. Erik had a special bond with his dog, Mason, who he considered one of his best friends. Most importantly, Erik loved the outdoors; he enjoyed hiking, especially at White Pines during the annual family get-together. Erik was a kind, smart, and dependable young man to family, friends, and strangers alike.
Family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL. A celebration of Erik’s life will continue on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 with a short visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow and Erik will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet.
