Elizabeth R. Mau ""Betty"" (nee Johnson) Betty Mau 78 lifelong resident of Joliet, passed away Saturday August 15, 2009 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Survived by her sons, Robert Mau Sr. (Kimberly), James Mau (Nancy), Ronald Mau, and Richard Mau; grandchildren, Robert Mau Jr., Jennifer Fagan, Patrick Mau, Kristi Mau and Ashley Mau; and great-grandchildren Aiden and Abigail Fagan. Betty is also survived by her brother-in-law, Fred Koenig, cousin Ruth Culyat; nieces and nephews, as well as her friends at the Tower Apartments. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Kathleen (Cox) Johnson; her husband, Robert E. Mau; sisters, Tish (Fred) Koenig, Alice (Frank) Boldego; and brother, Raymond (Dorothy) Johnson. Prior to being married Betty worked at the Army Ammunition Plant. In addition to raising her four boys, Betty worked as a waitress at many of the downtown Joliet restaurants during it's heyday including the Windmill, Lindos and the Colonial and was always spoken of very highly by her regulars. Betty was also a member of the VFW Cantigny Post 378 Ladies Auxiliary. Her family wishes to thank the Provina St. Joseph Medical Center Neuro ICU as well as the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home for the supportive care given to Betty In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Joliet Area Community Hospice.

Prayer services will be held at the Funeral Home chapel on Wednesday at 9:30 am then to St. Patrick Church for a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
