Elizabeth I. Branchaw ""Liz"" age 85, late of Joliet, died on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Silver Cross Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years Leonard, children Lenore (Ben) Branchaw-Harr, Leonard (Colleen) Branchaw and Luke (Joyce) Branchaw, grandchildren Carly, Kaitlyn, Nathan, Matthew, and Andrew Branchaw, sister-in-law Marcella (late John) Autero, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents Rose (nee Gaydos) and Charles Horvath and sister Rosemary (late Joseph) Uremovic.
She was previously employed as a teacher at Trinity School for 18 years. She was a member of St. Bernard"s Catholic Church, The First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association (Jednota) , and Senior Citizens of Will County.
Liz loved to cook and bake, specializing in Slovak bakery.
A Celebration of Liz"s Life will be held on Saturday, August 13, with a Memorial Mass at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Sterling Ave, in the Ridgewood area of Joliet. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial visitation will be at the church from 9:00 AM until the Memorial Mass at 10 AM. Services entrusted to Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life.
