Elisa (Rios) Torres

Elisa Torres (nee Rios), age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, July 12, 2018.

Elisa is survived by her seven daughters, Rosario Torres, Gloria (Richard J.) Bannon, Petra T. Hammarstrom, Beatriz (Michael G.) Brulc, Barbara (George) Crabtree, Guadalupe (Kevin L.) Milligan, Lucia T. (Keith A.) Johnson; one son, Tony (Patty J.) Torres; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by her husband, Jose A. Torres (2012); son, Felix Torres (2004); and parents, Lorenzo and Maria Anna Rios (nee De Leon).

Elisa was a dedicated parishioner of St. Mary Immaculate Church in Plainfield and a devout Catholic. She dedicated her life to caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, shopping and cooking. Elisa will be dearly missed.

A celebration of Elisa’s life will begin on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Immaculate Church in Plainfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
