Eleanor Helen Martis

Eleanor Helen Martis (nee Gryncewicz), age 86, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home after residing there for four years.
Survived by her loving children Cynthia Martis, Laurel Bierman, Elaine (Steven) Mueller, Robert D. (Sokha), Jeffrey and David (Jody); her dear grandchildren Jennifer, Tiffany, Bethany, Heather, Sarah, Erica, Justin, Isaac, Christine, Hannah, Rachel, Lisa and Noelle; great-grandchildren Reese, Jordan, Sierra, Chase, Anthony A�??A.J.A�?i��, Isabella, Hunter, Renee; she is also survived by numerous family members.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert A. Martis; her dear daughter -in-law Susan R. Martis; brother Genuis Gryncewicz; sister Loretta Sanculi; and nephew Daniel Sanculi.
Born on October 13, 1925 in Joliet, IL to the late Peter and Cecilia (nee Jamrog) Gryncewicz. She was a graduate of Joliet Township High School and Silver Cross Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse for Silver Cross Hospital and Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home. She was a member of the Joliet WomenA�??s Club and Town and Country Senior League Bowlers.
Eleanor asked to be remembered for her kindness and love for her family and friends.

A Celebration of EleanorA�??s life will begin on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 9:15 am with prayers at the funeral home chapel then in procession to Holy Family Parish for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm and again on Monday morning from 8:30 am until the time of prayers.
