Eleanor A. Lajcin (nee Wandrowski)
Passed away peacefully at age 92 on July 29, 2009 at Provena Villa Franciscan, Joliet, IL after a courageous battle with cancer. Eleanor was born in Calumet City on August 22, 1916 to Adam & Josephine (Piskula) Wandrowski and lived most of her life in the Joliet area. She was a very talented artist and a member of the Kankakee & Joliet Clubs for the Hearing Impaired. During her golden years, she and her husband enjoyed playing bingo and cards with their many friends. She lived a very fulfilling life.
Survived by her loving son, Daniel (Marilyn) Lajcin of Joliet; loving daughter, Janet (Thomas) Ross of Lady Lake, FL; grandchildren, Christopher, Shawn, Bernadette & Jennifer Lajcin; sister-in-law, Mary (late Andrew) Prieboy, Verna (Leslie) Horvath, Fran (late Frank) Zeimetz and Josie (Vincent) DiBartolomeo; brother-in-law, Anthony Lajcin and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Lajcin Jr. (January 2004); sister-in-law, Cecilia (Steven) Melovic; 8 sisters, 2 infant children, Harriet & Elizabeth; Wanda (Andrew) Kaminski; Helen (Thomas) Jordan; Barbara (Alex) LaRocca; Anna (Stanley) Dembowski; Marie Oakes/Bean & Lillian (Stanley) Mazur; 3 brothers, 2 infant children, Valentine & Stanley; and her beloved brother, Norman ""Whitey"" (Frances) Wandrowski.
