Eleanor A. (Szepelak) Bajt

Eleanor A. Bajt (nee Szepelak), age 89, entered into eternal life on Thursday, September 01, 2016.

Eleanor is survived by her loving children, Denise (Jim) Gray and Bill (Terri) Bajt; cherished grandchildren, Jeff (Jennifer) Gray and Debra (John) Ford, Kelly Lynn (Matthew) Boley and Mary Jo (Ian) Botnick; cherished great-grandchildren, Kaeli, John Jr., Camryn, Adyson, Madelyn, and William; brother-in-law, Samuel (the late Lorraine) Duncan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, John A. Bajt (2015); parents, Joseph and Agnes Szepelak; siblings, Edward (Jeanette) Szepelak, Henry (Lois) Szepelak and Lorraine Duncan.

Eleanor was a member of the Council of Catholic Woman at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and was also Charter Member of the church. Eleanor loved writing poetry and enjoyed sharing her book of poems with her family, the church and her friends at Senior Star at Weber Place. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be greatly appreciated.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Senior Star at Weber Place as well as Joliet Area Community Hospice for the wonderful comfort and care provided to Eleanor and her family.

A celebration of Eleanor’s life will begin on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation will be on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
