Elaine C. Black (nee Cuprisin), 76 of Monee, Illinois, died on April 2, 2016 at St. James Hospital after suffering a brief illness.
Born on June 1, 1939, she was the daughter of John and Helen Cuprisin; and sister to John, David, Kenneth and Timothy. She was the wife of William Black; and mother to Edward (Carmen) Wlezien and Teri (Joe) Wood; step mother to Scott, Donald, David, John, Matthew and Tammie; as well as an aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Tim; sisters-in-law, Helen and Connie; niece, Leslie; and infant son, Thomas Allen.
Elaine was a stay-at-home mother while her children were young but worked part-time as a school receptionist and a Bee Line clothing line model. Later, she worked as a receptionist on the successful reelection campaign of Bernard Carey and as an executive secretary at Hart Schaffner and Marx. In her retirement, she enjoyed, cooking, gardening, counted cross stitch, craft fairs, butterflies, reading magazines and the color purple.
A Celebration of Elaine’s life will begin on Saturday, April 16, 2016 with a memorial visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435. Per Elaine’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
