Edwin J. Rudzinski, age 92, at rest on Sunday, November 24, 2019.
Edwin is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Marie (nee Sypniewski) Rudzinski; children, Michael (Debra) Rudzinski, Terence Rudzinski, and Janice Rudzinski; grandchildren, Elena (Matthew) Russell, Melissa (David) Waite, Vincent Rudzinski, and Emily Rudzinski; great-grandchildren, Ari and Leona Russell, as well as; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Karolina Rudzinski; sister, Stella (Stanley) Fronczak; and brother- in- law, Richard (Mary) Sypniewski.
Ed attended Tilden Tech High School in Chicago, IL. He was a proud veteran who served the United States Army during World War II, Europe Theater of Operations. When “Barbs” returned home he married his high school sweet- heart Marie, where they began their wonderful life together. Barbs dedicated 37 years to the United States Postal Office retiring in 1984. He enjoyed his retirement and spending time with his wonderful family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Edwin’s life will begin with a prayer service in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2019 then driving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Edwin will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Tezak Funeral Home 1211 Plainfield Road Joliet, IL 60435 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
