Edward C. Zoran Jr., age 81, entered into eternal life on Friday, February 7, 2014.
Edward is survived by his sister, Patricia (Robert) Widlowski of New Lenox, IL; son, Daniel (Paula) Zoran of Boyer St. Beaufort, S.C.; daughters, Diane (Frank) Toth of Coal City, IL and Julie (Tad) Bergan of Joliet, IL; Edward is also survived by his grandsons Brian, Andrew, and Nicholas Reinhart, Mark and Matthew Zoran, and A.J. Bergan.
Preceded in death by his parents, Edward C. Zoran Sr. and Rose Zoran (nee Rozeman) of Crest Hill, IL; wife, Ann B. Zoran (nee Nolan) of Joliet, IL; and son, Bernard E. Zoran of Shorewood IL.
Edward was a lifelong resident of Joliet, and a retiree from Caterpillar Tractor Co. after 30 years of work. Ed was honorably discharged from the Army in 1960 and was very proud of his military service. Ed was an avid and very well-known collector of license plates, city stickers, and car memorabilia. Ed's knowledge and expertise in this field was unsurpassed. He was a well-liked and highly visible fixture on the local area car show and cruise night circuit for many years. Ed also had a passion for woodworking and his skill with tools set him apart from most others. Ed was blessed with a tremendous sense of humor and was always quick with a joke or funny story. His wit and wisdom will be missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association in Edward's name would be greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Edward's life will begin on Thursday, February 13, 2014 with prayers in the funeral home chapel beginning at 9:30 a.m. then driving in procession to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, 60435.
