Edward M. Mance ""Uncle Eddie""
Age 80. At rest Wednesday June 22, 2011 at Ballard Nursing home in DesPlaines following complications due to heart surgery.
Survived by his loving wife of 51 years; Lois Jean ""Jeanne"" (nee Maierhofer), a brother-in-law Jim (late Mary Ann) Kale, 3 sisters-in law; Mary (late Tony) Mance, Mary (late Jim) Reed, Ann (Arthur ""Bud) Vaksdal. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents; Anton and Ivana Mance, 2 sisters, Josephine Mance and Mary Ann Kale. One brother, Anthony Mance, and a sister-in-law, Phyllis (nee Maierhofer) Colvin.
Edward was born in Joliet, and a lifelong area resident. Retired from Ford Motor Company after over 55 years of service. He was an avid walker, and enjoyed working in his yard. Edward was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church; a lifelong member of the Croatian Culture Club, and The Senior Citizens Assoc.
Funeral Services for Edward M. Mance will be Tuesday June 28, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from Tezak"s Home to Celebrate Life to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Nativity Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Tezak"s Home to Celebrate Life.
