Edward Krizmanic, age 95, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 with his loving family by his side.
Edward is survived by his loving children, Barbara Wunderlich, Thomas (Linda) Krizmanic, Joann (Michael) Conroy and Marilyn (Mark) Paolella; grandchildren, Michael (Carly McGillick) Krizmanic, Jason Krizmanic and Lauren (Dr. Paul) Peña, Jeremy (Melanie) Hill, Matthew Hill, Erin (Andrew) Mustoe, Rebecca (Patrick), Jennifer and Elizabeth Conroy, Caitlin and Kristen Reilly, Angela and Mia Paolella; greatgrandchildren, Mason and Brayden Hill and Adeline Mustoe; brother-in-law, John Machak; sister-in-law, Frances (the late William) Krizmanic; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia (nee Machak) Krizmanic (2000); parents, Joseph and Katarina (nee Janes) Krizmanich; siblings, Kathryn (Charles) Domiter, Joseph (Mary) Krizmanic, Steve (Mary) Krizmanic, Frank Krizmanic, Antonia (Leland) Kofoid, Rudy Krizmanic and William Krizmanic.
Edward was a lifelong resident of Joliet. He was a proud United States Army Air Force Veteran serving from October of 1942 until February of 1946 and was a member of the American Legion Post #1080. He was a lifetime parishioner of St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet. Edward was also a member of the Moran A.C. and loved a good game of euchre and pinochle. Along with his brothers, William and Steve, he was co-owner of Krizmanic Construction in the Will County area for 35 years. He was also a member of the Bricklayers Local #14 for many years. Edward loved working crossword puzzles and impressed everyone with his legendary garden. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward’s name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church (Joliet) Capital Campaign Building Foundation would be appreciated.
A Celebration of Edward’s life will begin on Monday, March 6, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
