Edward J. ""Ed"" Horvath Age 83
Passed away peacefully on Friday August 20, 2010 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home Survived by his loving wife of 53 years Rosemary (nee Kristich), daughter Deborah Martincich, granddaughter Dustyn Martincich, sister-in-laws Mary Stefanich (Frank) and Kay (Will) Harris (Raymond), brother-in-law Michael Kristich and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Josephine (nee Cankar) Horvat, his brother Joseph Horvath, and sisters Ann Steinbach, Helen Horwath and Julia Crouch. A life-long resident of Joliet, Ed was a graduate of St. Jos"s Grade School and Joliet Township High School, where he played in the band under McCallister. After serving in the Navy in World War II, he owned Horvath"s Bakery. He retired from Olin Chemical, Our Lady of Angels, and Troy School District. Ed played the accordion and sang for the Polkamassters and was an Avid Chicago sports fan. In lieu of flowers donations in Edward"s name can be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice or St. Mary Nativity Church.
A Celebration of Ed"s life will be held on Saturday August 28, 2010 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:00 AM then in procession to the St. Mary Nativity Church Joliet, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM Interment at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 7 PM
