Edward Fultz Jr.

Edward Fultz, Jr., age 91, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

Edward is survived by his loving children, Marsue (Robert) Youngren, Nancy (William) Slimack, and Robert Fultz; five grandchildren, Lawrence (Cheryl) Kingsbury, William (Jeanne) Kingsbury, Jennifer Piper, Victoria (Matthew) Jevne, and Laura (Mark) Kot; twelve great-grandchildren, Alicia Andrews, Justin Andrews, Jake Piper, Collin Kingsbury, Colby Kingsbury, Liam, Hayden, Owen, and Anna Kingsbury, and Savannah Jevne, Lucas Jevne, and Anya Kot; Sisters-in-law, Hazel Hall and Marcella Bennington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Ruby Maxine (nee Beair) Fultz; his parents, Edward Jackson and Lottie Jane (nee Fife) Fultz; sisters, Ethel Leadinghan, Bertha Stamper, Opal Knipp, Zola Riley, Irene Stamper, Wilma Walton, and Lucille Stamper; brothers, Arnold Fultz, Coy Fultz, and Frank Fultz.

Edward was born in Head of Grassy, Lewis County, Kentucky.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1945 until 1948 in the WWII Army occupation of Germany.  Edward retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. in 1982 after 30 years as an inspector.  He lived in Channahon with his family in the house that he built.  He loved planting his garden in the spring and harvesting the vegetables in the fall.  He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all his loving family.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to all the wonderful hospice workers who helped care for Edward and his friends who sent him cards and visited him.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward’s name may be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice.

A Celebration of Edward’s life will begin on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, Illinois from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 P.M.  Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
