Edward C. Ambrozich ""Spike"" Age 80, at rest Monday, January 23, 2006 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Dolores L. (nee Chrzanowski) Ambrozich; loving father of, Edward J. ""Skeeter"" (Kathy) Ambrozich of WI and Linda L. (Donald) Jeffery of New Lenox; dearest grandfather to, Stacy Tait, Kara (Eric) Meyers and Stacey Sammet; a great-granddaughter, Chloe Meyers; two brothers, Joseph (Dolores M.) and Michael (late Barbara 1975 and late Peg 2000) Ambrozich; numerous aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; cousins; friends; neighbors; and dear friends, Bonnie Gerretti, Barb Elena, Barb Tomlinson and Sandy Gregorash, whom kept my spirits up, also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph (1979) and Mary (nee Skoff 2002) Ambrozich; and a sister, Marian Ambrozich (1970). Edward was born in Joliet, and was a lifelong resident. He retired from Olin Chemical Co. in 1988 after 40 years of service. Edward was a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Crop. as Tail Gunner on a B-24 Bomber. He participated in the Rhineland Campaign, Central Europe, and saw air combat over the Balkans. Edward received the World War II Victory Medal, 5 Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Ribbon, and the Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster. He was a member of the St. Joseph Lodge #2 K.S.K.J., St. Joseph Holy Name Society, Northwest Rec. Club, St. Joseph Senior Parishioners, the Senior Citizens Association, the Joliet Moose Lodge #300, the American Legion Post #1080, V.F.W. Cantigny Post #367, the Moran A.C. and the Old Timers Baseball Association.
