Edmund R. Blowers

Edmund R. Blowers, 81 years young, passed away peacefully at the Joliet Area Community Hospice, on Monday, October 20, 2008 with his loving daughter/caregiver Susan at his side. Mr. Blowers was born on October 4, 1927 to Ralph and Lenora (nee Batoki) Blowers in Elyria, Ohio settling in Joliet, Il in 1937. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Delores (nee Pasdertz); one son Ralph Blowers; one grandson Randy Blowers; one great-grandson Stephen Blowers; parents Ralph (1955) and Lenora (1972); one special cousin Leo Batoki. Survived by his sons, Charles and Edmund (Nicki) Blowers; daughters Lori Blowers, Susan (Hoyt) Platts; daughter-in-law Nancy Blowers; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; special cousin Richard (Dorothy) Vargo and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Edmund was employed by US Steel for over 40 years and was a member of St. Joseph Church in Joliet. According to Ed"s wishes cremation rites were accorded.
A Mass of Christian of Burial will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet, IL. at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Thursday at the Church beginning at 9:30 AM.
