Douglas E. Prieboy

Douglas E. Prieboy, 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 in New Lenox, IL. He was born on May, 25, 1953 in Joliet, IL to the late Stephen and Ann (nee Vidican) Prieboy. 

Doug graduated from Joliet Central High School in 1971. He worked as a pipefitter for Union 76, and later on, a paint maker for Crest until his retirement. He enjoyed trips to the zoo, fishing, listening to smooth jazz, and watching classic television shows. His time was often spent caring for his plants and spending time with the people he loved. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Barbara (nee Lee) Prieboy, one brother Leonard (Rose) Prieboy, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A celebration of Douglas’s life will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a chapel service beginning at 7:00 p.m. 

Family and friends are asked to meet at the church where a funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 1214 S. Hamilton St, Lockport, IL. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Illinois Audubon Society, a charitable organization for local birds and wildlife refuges.
