Dorothy A. (Plese) Smeets
May 20, 1942 — February 23, 2013
Dorothy A. Smeets (nee Plese), age 70, entered eternal life on Saturday, February 23, 2013 with her loving family by her side.
Survived by her loving husband of 52 years Wayne Smeets; her beloved children Cheryl and Randy Smeets; one sister Geri (late Donald) Hinich; grandchildren Megan N. Smeets and Trevor R. Smeets; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by her parents Louise (nee Skodi) and John Plese Jr.
Dorothy was a resident of Joliet her entire life. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Dorothy was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be truly missed.
In lieu of flowers donations in Dorothy's name may be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Geraldine, Michelle, and all of the staff at Joliet Area Community Hospice.
The visitation for Dorothy will be on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life. There will be a service in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. to conclude the visitation.
