Dorothy S. Simonic

Age 87. Passed away August 4 peacefully at Joliet Area Community Hospice.
Survived by her children Roberta (Richard) McCowan and Walter (Amanda); grandchildren Robyn, Katie, and Kari Simonic; sisters-in-law Claire Virginia (late Edward) Simonic, Helen (late Thomas) Talarico, and Dorothy (late Edward) Mufich; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Walter (1993); parents, Harrison and Esther Sturges; sister Myra (late Paul) Johnson.
Dorothy unselfishly devoted her time as a volunteer at Chanye-Monge School while her children and grandchildren were students; President of the Band Parents Association, tutor. Member of St, Anne CCW, VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She was employed as a dietitian for the Joliet Arsenal, Managed the Walnut Room at Marshall Field's in Chicago, and owned a catering business in Biloxi, MS. Serving the likes of late Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Joliet Area Community Hospice Home would be appreciated.
From where services will be held Wednesday August 8, 2007 at 9:30 am to St. Anne Church Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Privet Inurnment Resurrection cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
