Dorothy Rose Kinsley (nee Strahanoski), age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Susan (Joseph) Futterer, Jim (Therese), Timothy (Nancy), daughter-in-law, Janice (the late Edward) Kinsley; 8 grandchildren, Amanda, Nikki, Megan, Tony, Kristine, Marissa, Jackson and Matthew; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Kinsley (2015); and son, Edward Kinsley (2015); parents, John and Rose (nee Drick) Strahanoski.

Dorothy was born in Lockport, IL and resided in the Joliet area her entire life. She was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner and volunteer at the Cathedral of St Raymond in Joliet. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to care for her family. Dorothy was an avid reader, golfer and loved anything that contained chocolate. She will be truly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network would be appreciated.

A celebration of Dorothy’s life will begin on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood where Dorothy will be laid to rest with her husband. Visitation will be on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Road - Joliet, IL) from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Per Dorothy’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
