Dorothy A. Cabay ""Dort"" (nee Planinc) Age 77. Died peacefully Friday, December 16, 2005 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with her family by her side. Born in Joliet and a lifelong resident. Survived by her seven children, Ed (Rita) Cabay, Pat (Tom) Marentic, Carol Cabay, Jerry (Joyce) Cabay, Larry Cabay (Al Glater), Rick (Regina) Cabay and Karen (Roy) Doden; eleven grandchildren, Joe (Laurie), Paul (fiance Angela DeAngelis), Katie, Lindsay, Emily, Anna, Christine and Lisa Cabay, Jayme and Jenn Marentic and Dirk Doden; brother-in-law, Ben Cabay; sisters-in-law, Helen and Ellie Cabay. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Special life long friend Mae Rose (Bill) Zukoske. Extended children, Diane (Podnar) Calvert, Tom Block, Gina (DeNardis) Jones and Greg DeNardis. Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Anthony ""Tony"" Cabay (1998); her parents, Louis and Anna (nee Bezek) Planinc; and one brother, Edward L. Planinc (Pvt. U.S. Army, killed in action in WWII, 1944). Member of St. Joe's #2 KSKJ, Rosarian Club, Senior Citizen Association, Post 1080 Auxiliary Gold Star, and JCA Alumni Association. Our family is very thankful for all the love and support family and friends have shown at this difficult time. We thank the doctors and staff of Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center and Loyola University Medical Center and mom's caregivers from Provena Home Health and Provena Home Care. We would especially like to thank Remco Medical (The Block Family) who always treated and cared for mom like family as well as the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home for assuring mom's comfort in her final days and helping our family say goodbye.
