Age 89, at rest on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Survived by her one son, Rick (Mary Ellen) Bishop; grandchildren, Tricia (Brad) Boese, Nicole, Kris (Rory) and Rick Bishop; great-grandchildren, Josh, Cody, Maddyson Bishop and Haeley Boese. Also survived by nieces, Melody Hochevar, Janet Johnson and Cheryl Frasier; nephews Skip Masters and Gary Bishop; and a special Florida family, Jill and Ernie Kunda. Preceded in death by her husbands, Willard Bishop (1983) and Ted Tesch (2001); son, Bill Bishop; two brothers, Frank and Robert LaFontaine. Doris was employed for many years at Family Medical Group in Joliet, IL. Retired to Venice, FL in 1978 and then returned to Joliet in 2002 to be closer to family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris' name to the Lions of Illinois Foundation or the Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
A Chapel Service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 7:30 PM at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, 1500 Black Rd. Joliet, IL 60435. Visitation will also be on Friday from 3-8 PM. Private inurnment services will be held.
