Donna Smrekar

Donna Smrekar, age 59, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017 with her loving family by her side.

Donna is survived by her beloved cousin and care giver, Cheryl (the late James Sr.) Pasdertz; devoted cousins, James Jr. (Crystal) Pasdertz, Kris (Jeff Sr.) Brick, Sheri (Ralph) Augustyniak, Michelle (Paul Medina) Musser, Arlieta (Tom) McCabe, Michael, Dustin, James III, Tori, Jeff Jr., Katie, Kyle, Joseph, Angel, Ashleigh (Adam), Jeff Jr. and Chad; loving companion of 25 years, Scott Kazmierowicz; numerous cousins and family also survive.

Preceded in death by her parents; Albin and Martha (nee Sweda) Smrekar; and brother, Russell Smrekar.

Donna was a lifelong resident of Joliet, IL. She attended Joliet Township High School. Donna later went on to work for Cornerstone Services until her retirement. She enjoyed attending family events with her beloved boyfriend, Scott. Donna will be leaving behind her dear bunny, Stripey, who she left in the care of her cousins, Lileigh, Kyleigh and Bayleigh. Donna was a beautiful soul with a smile that lit up the room. She was loved and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Donna’s life will begin on Monday, March 13, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 10:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
