Donald L. Scheidt

Donald L. Scheidt, age 80, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017 with his loving family by his side at his residence.

Preceded in death by his wife, Marie V. (Norman) of 55 years; parents, Charles and Helen Scheidt; brothers, Richard (late Georgia) and Bill (Inez) Scheidt; brothers-in-law, Stanley Gray and Robert (late Beverly) Norman; sisters-in-law, Mary Kuban and Lorie Norman; grandson, Michael Scheidt.

Survived by his son, Edward (Tammy) Scheidt; daughters, Catherine (Michael Wrona) Scheidt, Victoria (Joseph Nurczyk) Kaminskas, Laurie (Charles) Gober, and Denise Scheidt; grandchildren, Kristin and Joseph Kaminskas Jr. and Mackenzie Scheidt; brother, Charles (Rose) Scheidt; sister, Norma Gray; brother-in-law, John Norman; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Born in Joliet and a life-long resident, Don was employed by Caterpillar for 38 years and Harrah's Casino for 5 ½ years retiring in 1999. Past member of Machinists Local #851 on the Safety Committee for 20 years. Member and past president of Holy Name Society at St. Mary Magdalene Church. Also a member of Knights Of Columbus.

A celebration of Donald's life will begin on Friday, June 16, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 10:15 a.m. then driving and procession to St. Mary Magdalene Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet. Visitation will be Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home 1211 Plainfield Road from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Pisut Funeral Services (815) 722-0998.
