Donald P. A�??StretchA�?i�� McGann, age 74, of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2013. Beloved husband of 51 years of Mary Ann (nee Kachelhoffer); loving father of Patti (John) DA�??Ambrose, Bridget McGann, Mike (Tami) McGann, Danny McGann, David (Linda) McGann and Katie (Kevin) Zihlman; dear grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather of one; brother of Dennis McGann.
Preceded in death by his parents, Helen (nee Spelich) and Donald Michael McGann.
Don was a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School, Class of 1956 and also the University of Notre Dame, Class of 1960. He spent many years working for E.J and E Railroad and retired after 32 years of service. Don was an active parishioner of St. Ambrose Church, serving in many ministries of the parish.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in DonA�??s name to Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431.
A Celebration of DonA�??s life will begin on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Crest Hill, IL. Visitation will be on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at St. Ambrose Catholic Church and again on Tuesday, from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral mass at the church.
