Donald L. Jeffrey, age 76, passed away peacefully at home under the care of Lightways Hospice after a series of strokes.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Linda (nee Ambrozich); nephews, Michael (Susan) Rogina, Donald (Christine) Rogina, Daniel (Kelly) Rogina, Christopher (Renae) Rogina and Kevin Rogina; brother-in-law, Edward “Skeeter” Ambrozich; sister-in-law, Kathryn “Kathy” Ambrozich; many nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Olive (nee Peterson) Jeffrey; sister, Joen (nee Jeffrey) Rogina; brother-in-law, Robert Rogina; parents-in-law, Edward “Spike” and Dolores “Mrs. Spike” Ambrozich.
Don graduated from Joliet Central High School class of 1966. He retired from Rogina and Associates after 20 years of service. He was a member of Bob Gamboa’s Showcase Classics Car Club and proud owner of a classic car which won him over 50 trophies and plaques. Don enjoyed fishing, attending car shows and cruises and was very handy with all tasks around the house. From yard work, to handyman, to working on cars, Don was a true jack of all trades. A special thank you to the mutual friends, Dominic and Terrie Orlando, who introduced Don and Linda. A special thank you to his two dearest friends from high school, Jerry (Karen) Krupianik and Rick (Barb) Crawford.
The family would also like to extended a thank you to all of the Doctors, Nurses and CNA’s from Silver Cross Hospital for their care, compassion and guidance. As well as the Nurses and CNA’s from Lightways Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Donald’s name to Lightways Hospice would be appreciated.
A celebration of Donald’s life will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Bill Ryden officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet.
