Dominic J. Vironda

Dominic J. Vironda, age 86, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Survived by his loving family, son Ronald (Mercia) Vironda; grandchildren Gina (Michael) Izzarelli, Ronald J. (Jill) Vironda, Robert (Kirsten Mahaffey) Vironda; great-grandfather of Brandon and Angelo Izzarelli; also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Rose (nee Jursinic)Vironda; his son Richard Vironda; his parents Fiorante A�??FloydA�?i�� and Theresa (nee Cortese) Vironda and his uncle Angelo John Vironda.
He was a Corporal in the U.S. Marines honorably discharged in 1946, he worked for the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers for 32 years, retiring in 1980. A member of the Foresters of America and Stone City Post 2199. Devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather and an avid Cubs and Bears fan.

A Celebration of DominicA�??s life will begin on Wednesday, March 28th with prayers at the funeral home chapel at 9:30 am, then in procession to St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Joliet. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life.
