Dolores Muscarello, (nee Baldovin), 97, of Downers Grove, IL, died peacefully surrounded by her children, at her home on Monday, June 24, 2013.
She was born in Panama, IL July 29, 1915 to the late Mamie and Joe Baldovin. After leaving Panama she settled in Chicago where she married Thomas J. Muscarello in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1978. Dolores remained in Chicago until moving to Downers Grove in 1992.
Dolores (A�??spelled with an oA�?i��) was a true caregiver all of her life A�?? first to her 8 siblings, then as a nanny, and ultimately to her own children and grandchildren. She was a loving mom, grandmom, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. Although she was private and shy she had a smile and a good word for everyone she met. She was loved by all who knew her. She was a prolific letter writer and saved most of her correspondence from World War 2. As a homemaker she was especially known for her ability to clean anything and everything if it didnA�??t move. She also enjoyed reading the newspaper and watching the nightly news. She was proud to be a A�??homebodyA�?i��, comfortable in one of her shirtwaist housedresses.
Dolores is survived by her children, Thomas (Bernadette) of Lake Forest, IL, Anna Marie (Brian) McNally of Downers Grove, Patrice of Chicago, and James (Jane) of Chicago; grandchildren Thomas and Jennifer of Chicago and Genevieve McNally of Woodstock, IL; her brother Giordano (late Dorothy) of Peoria, her sister Beatrice (William who loved her spaghetti) Carpenter of Peoria; numerous nieces and nephews; her sisters-in-law Sally and Donna; and her beloved caregiver and friend Kelly Howler of DeKalb, IL. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas; brothers, Dante (Elise), Virgil, Debs, and Delmo; sisters Aida (Harold) Stephenson and Marsellaise (Louis) Brewer and loyal Sparky.
