Dolores Marie Colabuono (nee Terlep)
Age 94, formerly of Joliet and recently a resident of Addolorata Villa in Wheeling, Illinois, passed away quietly in the company of her sons on Sunday, August 29, 2021.
Born April 19, 1927 in Joliet, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband: Theodore; her son; Scott (Nijole) Colabuono; parents: John and Anna (Sluga) Terlep; brothers: Anton Filak, William Filak, Wilbert (Frances) Terlep, and Leonard (Leona) Terlep; sisters: Bernice (Otto) Ehtor and Leona (George) Kauslaric and her dear friend, Glenn Bishop.
Dolores is survived by her sons: Gary (Patricia) Colabuono of Arlington Heights, Illinois and Alan (Donna) Colabuono of San Marcos, Texas; her grandchildren: Amanda (Robin) Colabuono, Kevin (Sara) Colabuono, Peter (Grace) Colabuono and Marisa (Henry) Colabuono, and her great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Emma, Penny and Hazel.
Dolores was a life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Her faith was a source of great comfort to her especially in her later years when she faced numerous health issues.
Dolores was also a member of Cantigny Post 367 Women’s Auxiliary, and in her free time was an avid bowler and golfer well into her 80s. She was a member of various leagues at local bowling lanes and golf courses. Dolores will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until time of closing prayers beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. Following prayers, the funeral will process to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow and Dolores will be laid to rest with her husband at St. Joseph Cemetery.
