Diane L. Hartman (nee Carey) (Villegas), age 62, lost her life due to a battle with lupus on Saturday, January 14, 2017.
Diane was born on April 6, 1954. Attended SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Grade School, Joliet Central High School. Later, she went to JJC, St. Francis University, and Lewis University. Diane retired from Joliet Central High School after a long teaching career.
Preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Julie Villegas; her wonderful mother, Bernice Carey (nee Shroba) and her father, Raymond Carey; and her amazing brother, James G. Carey.
Diane is survived by her spectacular husband, Jeffrey Hartman; her much loved children, Mark (Jennie) and Alexis Villegas; grandchildren, Marissa, Savannah, and Violet Villegas; surviving siblings, fun loving Ralph Carey, most helpful sister, Joyce (Tom) Moss, and Raymond Carey Jr.; sister-in-law, Sheila Carey; and former sister-in-law, Patricia Bever; wonderful mother-in-law, Dean Hartman; sisters-in-law, Julie (Stan) Clark, Deanna (Gordon) Lustfeldt; and brother-in-law, Joseph (Beth) Hartman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her faithful furry companion, Benjamin.
As well as the most loving and fun girlfriends a person is lucky enough to have in their life. You know who you are.

A Celebration of Diane’s life will begin on Thursday, January 19, 2017, with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 18, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435.
