Deyanira passed away on March 23, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Deya was born on August 24, 1945 in Monterrey, Mexico.

Preceded in death by her parents Evaristo and Guadalupe Valdez.

Survived by her loving husband, Robert McReynolds; two daughters, Haydee Perkins and Kathy (Tony) Hafner; six grandchildren, Christion, Adriana, Karissa, Emma, Sam and Caleb; two brothers, Victor (Rita) Tamez and Luis (Silvia) Valdez; one sister, Rosa (late Jose) Salazar. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Deya is a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and is a retiree from the Illinois Department of Corrections (Joliet Correctional Center). She was also a volunteer for Joliet Hospice.

At Deya's request, in lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Joliet Area Community Hospice and/ or Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund.

Chapel services will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 11 AM, Pastor Otis Weaver of the Friendship Baptist Church officiating. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM and Wednesday morning from 10 AM until time of services.
