Dennis F. Strodtman

December 3, 1933 — October 17, 2024

Dennis (Denny) Strodtman, beloved Husband, Father, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa was called to his eternal life on October 17, 2024. Dennis was born on December 3, 1933 to Andy and Thelma Strodtman in Storm Lake, Iowa. 

Dennis married Mary Zimmerman on September 18, 1957 and were married 53 years before Mary passed away February 8, 2011. They were blessed with one son Dan (Linda) from Fountain Hills, AZ. and their daughter Donna (Mike) Gentile. Nothing made Dennis happier than sitting in the bleachers and cheering for his grandchildren, Kathy (Steven) Heg, Nicholas (Kristen) Strodtman, Kristi (Tyler) Weber and Kevin (Lauren) Gentile. He was immensely proud to have enjoyed four great grandchildren Olivia and Sydney Heg, Miles Strodtman, and May Ivy Gentile. Dennis was employed at Sheffield Steel and a member of the Irving AC Club. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Dennis is also survived by one brother John Strodtman from DeWitt, IA. and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Strodtman, sisters Denise Bunce, and Marietta Barrick.

Visitation will be held Saturday November 2, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with services immediately following at Tezak Funeral Home at 1211 Plainfield Rd Joliet, IL. Inurnment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, IL.

The family would like to thank Dover Hospice of Joliet for their outstanding care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Dementia Society of America, or Dover Hospice of Joliet would be greatly appreciated.
