Dennis L. Jennings

Dennis L. Jennings, age 71 passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016 with his loving family by his side.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Nancy Jennings; children, Amy (Todd) Jendro and Scott (Rachel) Jennings; grandchildren, Morgan and Jordan Jendro and Kailyn Jennings; numerous nieces and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Rose (nee Cindrich) Jennings.

In his youth, Dennis was a lifeguard and Manager at Chaney Pool for 6 years and was involved in the American Red Cross. He was employed by the Illinois Department of Corrections and retired after over 30 years of dedicated service. Dennis enjoyed traveling to Puerto Vallarta for the past 28 years with his beloved wife and friends. He will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dennis’ name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org would be appreciated.

A celebration of Dennis’ life will begin on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Prayers will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Anne Catholic Church in Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Per Dennis’ wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
