Dennis G. Hammond "Monkey," age 57, at rest on Monday, December 22, 2014.
Dennis is survived by his siblings, Grant (Penny) Hammond, Nancy (the late Michael) Brenczewski, David (Ginger) Fleming and Doris (John) Thompson; loving companion, Gwen Wiley; cousin, Becky (Ron) Kleckner; numerous nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Richie Henson.
Preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Vera (nee Allen) Hammond; and one brother, Bruce Fleming.
Dennis was an avid Indy Car racing fan and fisherman and also loved attending auctions and flea markets. He was a member of the Joliet Moose Lodge #300. He worked with the emergency responders in the Joliet area.
A celebration of Dennis' life will begin on Saturday, December 27, 2014 with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service to be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park II Hills of Rest. Visitation will be on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435.
