Delores M. (née Rakowski) Farkas, age 92, passed away peacefully in her home Monday, December 11, 2017, surrounded by her family.
Born August 8, 1925, in Joliet, IL, she is survived by her son, Richard (Lisa née Brunner) Farkas; grandson, Christopher (Bianca Mayo) Farkas and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, George Farkas (2-6-2010); son, Russell Farkas (10-15-1981); grandson, Kevin Farkas (5-22-1992); parents, Michael (Pearl née Burdelska) Rakowski; sisters, Virginia (Herbert) Berscheid and Rita Churchill.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Rainbow Hospice for their care and guidance.
Delores was a lifelong Joliet resident. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and gardening. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Delores’ life will begin on Friday, December 15, 2017 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A service will begin in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Joliet, IL.
