David Anthony Videtich, age 72, born March 18, 1939, in Joliet, IL passed away on Wednesday, December 07, 2011, in Libertyville, IL after an extended battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife Joy Videtich (nee Glenn), daughter Jody (Andrew) Pavacic, son Michael (Brook) Videtich, grandson Nicholas Videtich, granddaughter Katherine Pavacic and siblings Donald (Donna Jean) Videtich and Dolores Welsh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Amalia Videtich (nee Bezek) and his sister Donna Claire Videtich.
He graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in 1957, Lewis College in 1961, and attended classes at Georgetown University Medical School. He began his career as a lab technician at Stepan, was promoted to lab manager, California plant manager, and finally Corporate Quality Control Manager. David retired from Stepan after 35 years.
David was a very outgoing person, loving any opportunity to socialize and entertain. In his early life, he loved activities such as playing the trumpet and hunting. In later years, he enjoyed cooking, fishing and playing cards. He was a heart transplant recipient of 17 years and in the end, an organ donor.
A Celebration of DavidA�??s life will begin on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 11:00 am with prayers at the funeral home chapel, then in procession to St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm
