David J. Laughlin

David J. Laughlin Age 55 of Crest Hill, passed away Friday, August 13, 2010 with his family at his side. David was born January 15, 1955 at Saint Anne's Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. At 26, he married the love of his life, Katherine A. West on December 3rd, 1981. Together, they were the parents of Michael D. Laughlin, their loving son. David is a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served under A.C. Battalion Two from August of 1972, until he was honorably discharged and released for inactive duty in August of 1975, when he was returned to his station in Little Creek, Norfolk, Virginia. He would later go on to have a career in the media networking industry, where he would spend the next 23 years; through hard work and dedication, he would eventually become Technical Operations Supervisor. The third of five children, his passing was preceded by his parents, Dennis and Marilyn Laughlin, and his eldest brother, Dennis J. Laughlin. In addition to his wife, Kathy, and son, Michael, he is survived by his sisters Kay Wolff and Christine and her husband Kris Smith, brother John and his wife, Alice Laughlin; his nieces and nephews, Kay's four children, son Jeff and wife Erin Laughlin, along with their son Victor, Mary Ann, Barry, and Bobby Wolff, Christine and Kris's son Sam, as well as Dave's grandson, Alex. Known by his wife and relatives as Dave, his coworkers as ""Ninja,"" and by his son and his friends as simply, ""Pops,"" he will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, kind heart, and most of all his loyalty to his family and friends. Though he will be greatly missed, he will always remain in our hearts, thoughts, and Prayers. A Celebration of David"s life will be held on Thursday August 19, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Dr. Clement Walchshauser of Three Rivers Church officiating. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 9 P.M.
