Daniel R. Wilda

Daniel Richard Wilda, age 69, was born on July 28, 1953 and passed away suddenly on Monday, October 10, 2022.

Daniel lived in Joliet before and after serving in the military. He proudly enlisted in the United States Army and was a retired disabled veteran. He devoted his life to his family, friends and his career in mechanics. He was the most generous man, known for always helping others. Daniel loved spending his days with his wife and family watching football and NASCAR and working on cars.

He is survived by his loving wife Susan L. Wilda; daughters, Sherri (Steve) Roark and Brandi (Brad Fox) Nelson; sons, Shaun Wilda, William Nelson Jr., and Robert Nelson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Mike (Karen) and Pat (Kathy); and sisters, Ginny (Bob) Babecki and Peggy (the late Gary) Medlyn.

Preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Virginia (Nee Hill) Wilda; sister, LuAnne; and brother, Steve Wilda.

A celebration of Daniel’s life will begin on Monday, October 17, 2022 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Per Daniel’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded following visitation. Interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at a later date.
