Daniel L. Schaeflein

Age 79, entered eternal life on Friday, November 1, 2013 with his loving family by his side.

Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Marion R. Schaeflein (nee LaRocque); children, Daniel (Mary Jo), Cheryl (Ed) Skeate, Cynthia (Phil) Ritola, Pete, and Michelle (Mark) White. He was the beloved Papa to Shannon, Ed, Erin, Katherine, Lauren, Sara, Danny, Ray, Amanda, Peter, Matthew, Patrick, Erik, Aiden, Kelly; Great Papa to Savannah, Skylar, Steven, Julia, Reagan, and Charlee; dearest brother to Laurence (Rosemary) and Karl (Helen) Schaeflein. Daniel is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Alma Schaeflein (nee Troy); brothers and sisters, Ann (Regis) Hopfer, Henry (Dolores) Schaeflein, Fred (Dorothy) Schaeflein, and Alma (Bill) Cranston.

He was always there, he always listened, and he always made us laugh. He liked fishing, he liked beer, he loved his family.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Daniel's name to the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois.

A Celebration of Daniel L. Schaeflein's life will begin on Friday, November 8, 2013 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:00 a.m. then moving in procession to St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Romeoville for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 7, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet.
