Age 89, at rest Monday, December 24, 2007 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Loving father of Rosemary (Roger) Wallace, Suzanne Condon and Daniel (Linda)Jovanovich Jr., Dearest Grandfather of Casanna and Zakarij Wallace, Michelle and Melissa Condon, Jovi, Mark , Dana and Krista Jovanovich. One sister Danica (Late Orville) Belfield, three brothers Richard (Late Julia), George (Joan) and Radovan (Darlene) Jovanovich, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Thomas and Julia Patch. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his wife Eva (nee Sweda) Jovanovich (1997) and parents George and Mary (nee Padley) Jovanovich.

Daniel was born in Joliet in 1918 and was a life long resident. He retired in 1983 as a Postal Clerk for the U.S. Post Office after eighteen years of service. Previously employed by the family owned Serbian Food Store in Joliet. He was a U.S Army Veteran with Battery C, 74th Field Artillery Battalion serving in the European Theatre of WWII. Member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Mita Topalovich Serbian Choir, Serb National Federation, Joliet Moose # 300, American Legion Harwood Post # 5, and Young Americans Club.

Contributions can be made to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church.

Tezak Funeral Home

Services will be held Friday at 9:15 am at the funeral home. The funeral will be at 10 am at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 310 Midland Ave., V. Rev. Ned Lunich officiating. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 8 pm. Pomen service will be at 7:30 pm.
