Clara G. Kovalcik (nee Goron), age 100, entered into eternal life on Friday, May 20, 2016.
Clara was baptized at Holy Cross Catholic Church and attended grade school at Holy Cross Catholic Grade School. She was a longtime member of St. Thaddeus Catholic Church.
Clara is survived by her loving children, Clare A. (John) Srncik and Leroy Kovalcik; cherished granddaughters, Jennifer M. (Rob) Love and Kristi L. (Jason) Pleshar; cherished great-grandchildren, James Love, Raylee, Jason, and Brayden Pleshar; dear sister, Florence Goron; dear brother, Raymond (Dolores) Goron; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Kovalcik; infant son, Paul Kovalcik; parents, Harry and Catherine (nee Smith) Goron; sisters, Mary DiGuisto and Rose Querio; and brothers, Joseph, Frank, Edward, and Walter Goron.
Clara was a homemaker. She loved working on crossword puzzles and reading books.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses at Presence St. Joseph of 5 West and 2 West as well as Dr. Ramesh N. Patel for the excellent care provided.
A Celebration of Clara’s life will begin on Saturday, May 28, 2016 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 a.m. then driving in procession to Holy Cross Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL. Visitation will be Friday, May 27, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet.
